To close the season of Wednesday Concerts on a festive note, Mediterranean perfumes will pervade the Great Hall with a meeting of two young virtuosos of the Baroque repertoire and a master of Middle Eastern music, Keyvan Chemirani. Repository of a grand tradition of modal music, the Iranian percussionist cultivates numerous creative collaborations: he regularly works with some of the big names in jazz such as Louis Sclavis or the Erik Marchand Trio as well with groups specialising in Ottoman, Greek and Andalusian music. At his side, two talented and renowned young interpreters of the Baroque: Thomas Dunford on lute and Jean Rondeau on the harpsichord, instrumental “revelation” of the Victoires de la Music 2015.
An intriguing mix of the Baroque repertoire with Middle Eastern flavours.
